Plasma TV's are for a different application then LCD's. Sure the price thing is a factor but LCD TV's are better for a room with more natural light because you get less glare than a plasma TV. If you take out the glare factor then the picture of a 1080P plasma vs a 1080P LCD is not much different. Both LCD & Plasma TV's give an excellent picture quality.

I could not agree more, we had an upset customer that returned a Plasma tv since they had it in a well lit room. We exchanged for an LCD and all is good.

My LCD has a Blue LED light on the front of it. Can I now say it is an LED TV because it “TECHNICALLY” has LED in it???

Thanks for the information.

What I know about Plasma TV is,

Plasma TV’s have great color accuracy, high contrast ratios and are good for displaying darker colors like black. Plasmas have a fast response time this means watching sports, action and video games are ideal on this TV. The Plasma TV’s are only available in larger sizes more than 32″. They are bit heavier than the LCD TV

These kind of blogs are really informative.
In my Opinion Plasma TV is better due to its widescreen, better contrast ratio,Better color accuracy,Increased image brightness, Lighter weight and better motion tracking (little or no motion lag in fast moving images).

but because of plasma's burn-in risk, LCD is the safer choice for computer work and gaming anyway.

LCDs work well in bright-light situations that would be tough for most plasmas.
